Free Falling

Just heard about this amazing new attraction in Niagara Falls.
Fulfill your dream to fly… experience the thrill of skydiving in a safe environmentally controlled indoor vertical wind tunnel. Fly in an a column of air at speeds of 120 mph.
Niagara Freefall just might be on my to do list!

Summer

Will the warm days of summer finally arrive? At times the month of May has been pretty cool, but rest assured we will have some warm days ahead. With the arrival of summer come lots of opportunity for outdoor activities, hamburgers on the BBQ and potentially summer vacations. These are all great things and good gifts from God.
Summer is also a great time to invite people to Church at the Falls. Our relaxed style is rather appealing to those that throw on the shorts and sandals any chance they get, so be thinking about bringing a friend along to CATF during these beautiful days of summer.
This Sunday we conclude out talks on Influence. Don't miss it, you need to hear what we are talking about this week. You will be very encouraged.
2 weeks from this Sunday we will join over a 1000 churches worldwide to kick off the One Pray Series of talks. You will get a chance to hear some exceptional talks that will impact your life. We will also partner to make worldwide impact by giving of our time locally to Project Share and we will send a financial gift to start a new church in another country.
Summer Days are gifts from God, let's give him the first day of each summer week by gathering with Church at the Falls.

Disturbed
A Few weeks back I posted a quote from Sir Francis Drake. Here is the entire prayer. Please ponder the words.
Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves, when our dreams have come true because we have dreamed too little, when we arrive safely because we have sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when with the abundance of things we possess, we have lost our thirst for the waters of life; having fallen in love with life, we have ceased to dream of eternity; and in our efforts to build a new earth, we have allowed our vision of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly, to venture on wider seas where storms will show your mastery; where losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; and to push into the future in strength, courage, hope, and love.

Proof Read
My wife informed me that I need to proof read my blog posts a little better. You know what...I get a great thought and my fingers can't keep up with my mind or my mind can't keep up with my fingers. Let's see if I can do a little better with the proofing.
Have a Sunny Weekend.

Sunday
I really believe that gathering with Church at the Falls each Sunday is the most important part of our week. We need to start the week with God's influence in our lives, we need to gather with other followers of Christ and we need to give of ourselves. This all happens when we come together as the church.
This Sunday is one of the weeks you really don't want to miss. We are in part 3 of our Influence series and what I have to share may just change the way you view your life. Don't miss it.

Falls Fanatics
The Gordon family are the Falls Fanatics of the week. Ian continues to knock it out of the park in Kidmo, Susan served with our Host Team today, John ran the sound and Andrew helped with tear down. The Gordon's have been part of the CATF team since the inception of Church at the Falls. We appreciate you so much.

Another Big One
Another Big Announcement.
As part of our participation in the One Prayer event with over 800 churches which represent over 500,000 people. We have the opportunity to participate by giving toward the establishment of 500 new churches in Cambodia, India, Sudan, and China! The local church is the hope of the world, and these churches will be able to make a sustainable, lasting and eternal impact on these four strategic regions. For every $5000 given by this group of 800 churches a new church can be established in these countries that are so in need of the truth of Jesus. Can you imagine if God worked mightily through our church and we were able to give $5000? Wow! All I can say is, "God do what ever see fit through our church". We are just in our infancy but we serve an amazing God. He will work if we step out. Maybe that means holding a garage sale so that you can give. Maybe it means, eating at home instead of a meal out. Maybe you have been blessed with a little extra and instead of keeping it all, you can give part of it. I have have no trouble asking you to give, because I am speaking first to myself. I also remember that God gave his Son...nothing more needs to be said.

Big Announcement
As part of our One Prayer Global Partnership in the month of June. We will partner with Mountain Park Church and Project Share to run a charity BBQ and to collect jars of peanut butter. On Saturday, June 28th we will set up at a local grocery store (location to be decided) and run the BBQ and receive jars of peanut butter from the community. Peanut butter is a item that the food bank is always in need of. Our goal is to bring in 1000 jars of peanut butter. I know God will do this. I can't wait to count the jars.
How can you help:
How can you help:
- Pray for all the planning that needs to take place.
- Pray for great weather.
- Pray for a grocery store to work with us.
- Pray for the local media to get on board.
- Pray for at least 1000 jars of peanut butter.
- Volunteer to help that day.
- Bring jars of peanut butter on June 28th.
I am so excited that God has given us this opportunity to make a difference in our community.

Project Share
A group of us spent a couple hours at Project Share, our local food bank, this morning. What a great operation and a great experience. We will do this on a regular basis and would love to see more people go.
Project Share is always in need of food donation, especially peanut butter. Why not pick up a jar and drop it off sometime in the the next couple weeks.

Don't Give Up
Do you feel like quiting? Does it seem like you keep trying and failing? Don't give up!
Thomas Edison said he didn't fail 10,000 times at creating an incandescent light bulb, he “learned 10,000 ways it did not work” before he successfully changed the world by giving us the light bulb.
We have light today because Edison failed over and over, but never gave up.

Highs and Lows
As a pastor your heart gets pulled in a bunch of directions. I had no idea how emotional is was to lead a church, until I stepped into the position. The highs and lows can be very interesting.
Highs
Highs
- No matter how crumby life is....Sunday is great.
- The smiles I see on peoples faces around CATF.
- Wrapping up our Miracles series.
- 5 people joining me to serve at the Project Share Food Bank. If Jesus were in town he would be along with us.
- For people that love to give of what they have been given.
- Good friends.
- The person that told me they are working at reading their whole Bible.
Lows
- I am concerned about a person the has gone through some rough times. You need to reconnect with CATF.
- I hurt when I know that families are just doing others stuff on Sunday morning. Missing church and missing what God has for them.
- Realizing that there should be a entrance examine for parenting...some days I think I'm the worst father.
- Desiring to see more people gather with us on Sunday.
Glad that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Giving
What can you give away? Your time...that's a big one. Your talent...you can invest your talent to help someone. Your possessions...share the great stuff you have. Your home...have someone over. Your food...make a meal for someone or give some away to a needy person. Your career...give someone at work the chance to excel ahead of you. Your money...buy someone a coffee. Your ear...listen to someone. Your love....love someone who is hard to love. Your wisdom...pass on what you have learned. Your patience...we all need a little grace at times.
For God so loved the world that he gave..... Are acting like God?
Have a blast giving.
