Thinking About Prayer

I have been think a lot about prayer the last few days and then this morning I came a across a fascinating truth in the Bible.

The story takes place in Isaiah 37. King Hezekiah is under threat by Sennacherib. In a nutshell Sennacherib sent a letter threatening that Assyria is going to put a beating on Jerusalem and that God is no match for the Assyrian Army. This obviously stresses King Hezekiah out, but I really like how he ends up responding.

Isaiah 37:14-15
Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD. 15 And Hezekiah prayed to the LORD.

Hezekiah turned to God during a life challenge. I wonder, do we spread our concerns out before God our Heavenly Father? DO we spread our family, health, financial, work, relational concerns before God -- I mean when was the last time we laid our heath report, bank book, lay off notice, letter from a angry spouse, letter from a child's school before God and just prayed about it?There is nothing magical about doing this, it's just a way for us to acknowledge we NEED God.
What do you need to lay before God today? Would you keep doing this day after day until you see God's work in your life? Don't worry - Pray.
