This morning I keep thinking about the many spiritually needy people in our community and how they seem to be so distant from God. Jesus had this to say when he witnessed those distant from God in his own community...
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Matthew 9:36 NIV
The really awesome thing about Jesus' interaction with this group was that he cared for their physical need...he gave them food. Jesus gave us the model for reaching the hurting.
So, how are we doing? Are you more interested in telling your community what the Bible has to say or are you living what the Bible has to say. Jesus said something about "loving your neighbour". Let's care for our community and show them God's love. Walk among your community as Jesus did.
