For a church pastor/leader, the question is never “Can we do this?” The question is always “Does God want us to do this?” If the answer to that question is yes, then you follow it up with “Well then, how can we make this happen?”
Too often, we say no to God because we believe something can’t be done. God doesn't really care about what we think is or is not impossible. He just wants to know whether or not we’ll do what He asks us to do.
On the other side, we say yes to people's desires too often without hearing from God because we want to please that person. Saying yes, when we know what God has already said or without seeking him spells disaster for our church. So if I ever say no to your request it's not because I don't like you or your idea, it's just that I need to hear from God before we step forward.
Asking the right questions and following the the right Leader is primary to our success.
My prayer is this:
God,
How can we make Jesus famous in the Niagara Region. Show us and we will follow.
